One of the most rewarding parts of our jobs is hearing feedback from clients following their trip. Like parents who cheer on the entire class come sports day, we thought you might love this, received from a mum (hi, Joy!) who’d travelled with us to Burma (aka Myanmar) regarding her son.
“I thought you might be interested to know that a photo Joshua took while on our amazing adventure through Myanmar this year won a National Geographic kids UK award for the best ‘Wild Vacation’ photograph! He was thrilled with the huge Nikon camera he received and it has given another opportunity to celebrate and communicate with others about our trip.” (Joy, Dublin)
Below, is Josh’s original submission, described by co-judge, Michaela Strachan as “a picture which paints a thousand words.”
“This is a photo from when I was in Burma (Myanmar) in March. It is a picture of sandals in the Buddhist monastery in Mandalay when I watched all the nuns going for dinner.
I’m calling this photo “Walk On” because my Dad likes the Irish band U2 (and so do I) and explained that U2 wrote a song that was banned in Myanmar because it was about Aung San Suu Kyi and how she walked through the soldiers rather than going round them as commanded.
This inspired me, and I will be sending this photo to Bono (U2s lead singer) and hope he responds!!”
