Where to stay in Georgia
There is a wide range of accommodation available in Georgia, from simple mountain guesthouses to luxurious boutique hotels. Sophisticated high-end hotels are frequently found in converted Soviet-era buildings that are all exposed brickwork, dark corridors and achingly trendy shared work spaces.
Many are not suitable for families, but there are a handful that are perfect, with great facilities and friendly staff. There are also smaller hotels in quiet locations that offer a warm welcome and delicious home-cooked meals.

Rooms Stepantsminda
Probably our favourite hotel in Georgia, situated in an unbeatable position, high up a hill across the valley from Gergeti church, with magnificent views of Mt Kazbegi. With floor-to-ceiling windows, and comfortable armchairs and blankets available if you want to sit outside to soak up the views, this is a hotel that makes the most of its location.

Radisson Tsinandali
Only 90 minutes from Tbilisi, this is a hotel that caters to weekenders from the capital, which means a plethora of amenities to choose from. Padel and tennis courts are on offer, as are a great pool, steam room, sauna, gym and billiards table. The library has endless books to browse, and the grounds of the hotel are extensive and perfect for a wander.

Strofi Tbilisi
An excellent mid-range choice for families, with great child-friendly bed configurations. Some rooms have particularly good views of the Mother of Georgia, a huge Soviet-era statue perched on a hilltop overlooking Tbilisi. The staff are delightful and although this is not luxury, it has everything that you might need.
