Travelled Summer 2026 (Peru & Argentina)
Hi Jess & Liddy. In Peru, pick ups from airport/hotels etc, all great, really thorough info and great guides, (Mario, in particular) – not too much info after that long flight into Lima, just right. The transfer to Cusco and then Sacred Valley were again, all good and we liked the hotel.

The Macchu Picchu excursion was all good, very smooth running in terms of arrangements and pick ups and everything was very clear. The lunch was lovely, and extremely welcome in order to get away from the crowds gathering at the entrance and our guide was great. The bus from Cusco to Puno was good, we enjoyed that, the guide was great and all the stops, interesting etc. Was a nice way to spend 10 hours, plus wifi, obviously!

Puno was as I remembered it to be 25 years ago. The Lake T trip itself was great, really good guides and a nice mix of walking/activities/food. Really enjoyable. All transfers were great, really clear info from our guide, and transfer from Juliaca back to Lima. I have to say, I know it was expensive, but the airport hotel was a nice touch. We were very ready for some warm water and made full use of the facilities there, so that was a very good suggestion.

The transfer down to Paracas was fine, and the hotel and Ballastas islands trip were lovely, really good guides again. The transfer from Lima to Buenos Aires was fine, helped by guide Mario – we hadn’t realised that after such hand holding, we’d be on our own for the transfer between the two countries – we suddenly had to think for ourselves!

In Argentina, the transfer to hotel and information given, was all really good and everything clear. Valentina was our guide, if I remember – really lovely. We liked the hotel, in Palermo – that was nice and we really enjoyed the bike ride. A few hair raising bits for me, cycling behind C but nothing a glass of Malbec couldn’t sort out. A nice guide. The mini bus tour was excellent, lovely guide Coni, we really enjoyed that time.

The transfer to Iguazu was great, and a guide on either end. We really enjoyed the Iguazu trip and our guide was really great. Easy transfer to La Pampa, with a lovely driver. We enjoyed the ranch, which was lunch, ‘show’ and then horse ride.

In summary, we were really impressed with the Stubborn Mule experience and the general service and attention to detail. We were very glad that we had booked through yourselves and had a contact throughout the trip. We would most definitely travel with you again. I should say that our teenager really enjoyed the things that you and Liddy said he would and a healthy dose of wifi and water, after a day’s activity, is definitely the right way to go. Thank you again.

Hello Helene. Thank you for arranging our ‘Amazing Argentinian Adventure’. Everything was wonderful from start to finish. Argentina is a wonderfully diverse, beautiful and interesting country. Something for everyone! Buenos Aires was fabulous. So vibrant, colourful and we felt very safe. We loved exploring all the different neighbourhoods. We did a graffiti tour of La Boca, toured Recoleta cemetery, La Bombonera football stadium, visited the beautiful opera house, wandered the streets of La Boca and visited San Telmo markets. La Boca was our favourite with the colours, port and live Tango dancing in the streets. We also all very much enjoyed the Aljibe Tango evening show.

Iguazu Falls and the rainforest were incredible. It was a living geography case study with the children spotting the emergent layer in the rainforest as we were landing. The children loved the coatis, naughty monkeys and high adrenaline boat ride. We did not expect the boat to accelerate into the waterfall! We were totally soaked but this was very welcome given the heat!

The drive to the wetlands was loooong. We thought the long dirt track would never end!! It was worth it, though, especially when we spotted our first capybara. Capybaras galore, caimans, marsh deer, howler monkeys and many different bird species. The Estancia Ibera and staff were wonderful. The work being done by re-wilding to reintroduce extinct species back into the area is amazing and so interesting to learn about. We loved the knowledge and experience of the guides and the night hike was a highlight. We saw armadillos, viscachas, frogs, caimans and capybaras. The children found it very amusing when a capybara nearly walked into us (they can’t see well in the dark!)

Our stay at the estancia was a definite highlight. Our daughter loves riding and it was a dream for her to ride with the gauchos. The gauchos are incredible horsemen and put on a show each time we rode with them. They could see how well our daughter could ride and let her ride all morning with them on the last day. Another family asked if she worked there! The food was great, especially the Argentinian BBQ at lunchtime, and the show and dancing with the gauchos were really fun. Best steak we have ever had!

A trip of a lifetime to celebrate a special birthday! Thank you, Stubborn Mule.

Hi Liddy. Thank you for your email. We had a wonderful holiday in Buenos Aires and Brazil with lots of high spots. Pretty much everything worked really well and the hotels were excellent – probably smarter than if we had booked them ourselves. All in all, this was one of the best holidays we have had with lots of highlights and the right blend of travel and relaxation. Thank you to you and Jess for organising this – I think this was our holiday 4 or 5 with Stubborn Mule and everything worked like clockwork as always. Many thanks.

Travelled Summer 2023 – Argentina & Brazil
We had a really great time – thank you to you (Liddy) and Jess for your hard work in putting this together and being available for us. The guides were all great and some superb. The itinerary worked great and apart from the storm in Rio which closed the airport and kept us an extra day in Rio, everything worked very smoothly. We got to see a family of humpback whales off the coast in Praia do Forte which made me very happy and went to two football matches in Rio and Buenos Aires which made my son even happier. The hotels were all good too – especially in Rio and the hotel at Iguacu Falls, which was very special. Thank you again.

We had an amazing time in Argentina – we loved this country so much, the same goes for Uruguay (we could even imagine living there). In El Chalten we were super lucky with the weather which made the hikes even more beautiful.

Thank you so much for organising a brilliant trip for us. We all loved Buenos Aires, such a vibrant and exciting city. Very easy to get around and everyone so friendly. So many highlights, T loved the steak and fabulous wines of course, and we all enjoyed the tango show and wandering around the different areas of the city. But nothing prepared us for Iguazu… the kids were completely wowed and thrilled by the boat trip to the base of the falls. The estancia was fun too.

Central Buenos Aires Buenos Aires is famed for its Tango Hill of Seven Colours, Purmamarca Iguazu Falls Vineyards with Andes in distance, Mendoza Black Caiman, Ibera Wetlands Lake Nahuel Huapi, Bariloche Southern Right Whales, Valdes Peninsula Young Gauchos Mount Fitz Roy, Patagonia Ushuaia, Tierra del Fuego Punta del Este beach, Uruguay Argentinian beef is legendary
