Iceland
Iceland itineraries for families
An self-drive road trip is a perfect way to explore Iceland. Aside from the specified overnight stops (and any included activities), you have complete flexibility to check out the various glaciers, hot-springs, geysers and, of course, the many waterfalls and volcanoes along the way. With numerous daily flights throughout the year, it is up to you how long you travel for – and when.
Iceland in the spring and summer is utterly spectacular with breathtaking views everywhere you go. Lush green hills and striking blue waterfalls contrast with the black sand beaches and lava fields. It’s not called the Land of the Midnight Sun for nothing – the 24-hour daylight will mean you don’t miss a thing!
Iceland in the autumn/winter months is stark, rugged and beautiful. A holiday at this time of year is full of exciting activities, including horse riding, hiking to frozen waterfalls and soaking in geothermal baths, surrounded by snow. There is, of course, also a good chance of seeing the Northern Lights.
