Iceland itineraries for families
An epic road trip is a perfect way to take in all that Iceland has to offer. Aside from the specified overnight stops (and any included activities), you have complete flexibility to check out the various glaciers, viewpoints, hot-springs, and of course many waterfalls along the way. We make suggestions for routing and stops each day, but, you can in reality do whatever you feel like – your trip is your own and no two experiences will be the same.
Iceland in the spring and summer is utterly spectacular with breathtaking views everywhere you go. Lush green hills and waterfalls contrast with the stark black sand beaches and lava fields. It’s not called the Land of the Midnight Sun for nothing – the 24-hour daylight will mean you don’t miss a thing!
Iceland in the autumn/winter months is both rugged and beautiful – and much quieter. A week here is full of exciting activities families could take part in, including horse riding, hiking to frozen waterfalls, and soaking in geothermal baths surrounded by snow. Coupled with good chances of seeing the northern lights.
