Morocco itineraries
Morocco can often be a family’s first foray outside of Europe, a taste of different cultures and cuisine. Our Morocco family short break is ideal for half-terms and quick escapes. This has an enticing combination of Marrakech, the Atlas Mountains, the Agafay Desert and Essaouira – city, mountains, desert and coast – to suit all inclinations (and is available all year round).
Our Highlights of Morocco holiday includes many of the country’s highlights combined with some of our favourite less well-known gems, travelling from Marrakech to Fes via the Atlas and the Sahara. An exciting road trip with lots of activity and varied scenery for all ages.

15 Days
Visit Marrakech, Imlil (High Atlas), Ait Ben Haddou, Dades Gorge, Sahara Desert, Fes, Meknes, Volubilis
From £2,875 per person
Plus international flights from £150

8 Days
Visit Marrakech, High Atlas Mountains, Agafay Desert & Essaouira
From £1,550 per person
Plus international flights from £150
Both itineraries can be tweaked to suit the seasons – for example, less time in the mountains or at the coast at Christmas and fewer days in the cities during the heat of the summer. The key is not to pack too many locations into a short space of time. Morocco is a vast country and driving distances can be long, with zig-zag mountain roads.
If you are concerned about time spent in the car, please let us know. We can then ensure that we create an itinerary that is tailored accordingly. For example, we might suggest taking the train between Marrakech and Fes or flying out of Essaouira rather than Marrakech..
Family adventures across Morocco’s diverse regions
With an ever-increasing number of airports offering year-round direct flights to the UK, the different regions of Morocco are opening up to families more and more. Agadir can offer a surprisingly pleasant alternative to Essaouira, Ouarzazate is the gateway to the Sahara and Tangiers allows travel through the north of the country, including the charming ‘blue’ city of Chefchaouen.
Morocco is such a welcoming country, many of our families return time and time again – a day’s mule trekking in the Atlas Mountains one year can develop into climbing Mount Toubkal, the highest mountain in North Africa, the next!
