Where to stay in Slovenia
As befits its small scale, Slovenia has few large hotels or global brands. This means that what you will find are plenty of small, stylish boutique options offering a warm welcome and a genuinely local feel. Apartments are also popular for families looking for a bit more space and flexibility, while in remote regions you can opt between cosy lodges and rustic farm stays.
What you need to know
In towns such as Ljubljana, there are a wide range of classic city hotels from mid-range properties to more luxury boutique properties. We will select the right property for your family, depending on budget and whether you will have a vehicle with you or not.

Ljublijana
Once you leave the city behind, there is a great variety of accommodation available. Up in the mountains, there are many beautiful traditional farms that have a handful of rooms. Some are very simple, with chickens running around and clothes flapping on washing lines whilst others are more sophisticated, with charming décor and enticing pools. Different properties will suit different families so we will make recommendations to suit.
In tourist hot spots such as Lake Bled, you can choose a classic tourist hotel but there are more unusual options if these appeal, such as tree houses, glamping tents and wooden cabins.

Lake Bled
Many families choose to combine a trip to Slovenia with some beach time in Croatia, staying in one of the many beautiful resorts up and down the coast. We will be able to suggest a suitable location and property for you. One of our favourites is a little-known property on an island not far from Rijeka, with blissful gardens and lots of scope for beach relaxation and dolphin boat trips.
