Sweden

Sweden pricing guide

Sweden is considered slightly less costly than the other Scandinavian countries, especially in the summer. While winter trips using exclusive lodges can be eye-wateringly expensive, a trip to Coastal Sweden in the summer months won’t break the bank. Getting to Sweden is also relatively inexpensive and you’ll find prices for eating out on a par with those you’d find in the UK. In the winter, living costs will vary depending on where you’re staying, with most lodges offering a la carte menus for lunch and dinner.

Price guidelines

To give you a guideline, a 10 day holiday for a family of four to Coastal Sweden in the summer would usually cost a minimum of around £6,960 excluding international flights. This is based on a mix of one and two bedroom accommodation, in mid-range hotels. If you choose to add a few nights in Stockholm to this, you can expect prices to rise to around £8,500 plus flights.

There are some wonderful upgrades available in Sweden which can increase the cost of your trip to £10k+ and a stay in a Swedish Castle for a few nights will easily add a few thousand to the overall cost of any trip.

Trips to Swedish Lapland start at around £7,000 plus flights based on a 6-day trip for a family of 4 sharing one room. Costs can rise steeply in Lapland and remote luxury lodges will cost considerably more.

International flights

All prices exclude international flights. There are regular flights to Sweden from many UK airports. Stockholm and Gothenburg flights in the summer, booked well in advance, can be as low as £55 per person with the low cost airlines. In the winter, flights into Stockholm start from around £110 per person and flights direct into Kiruna (for trips to Swedish Lapland) cost from £300 per person. We will be very happy to provide a flight quote for you from your nearest airport. Please ask us for details.

There are no age limits on our tours and we will tailor the itinerary to the ages of your children. Summer trips to Sweden are suitable for any age and can be tailored to suit your family with ease.
